Another change in plans due to not getting the inspection on Monday but on Tuesday bumped the slab pour to today. Once again, like watching ballet, with the same awesome crew, and interestingly enough, almost the same amount of concrete as the last two pours, here's how it went.
They started on the far side, farthest from the truck and pump. As the concrete settled in, they began to smooth it over.
All along the way, Steve the concrete contractor was testing for level.
After they'd done one pass on smoothing, Steve would follow up with a tool called the Come Along (love that!). It was amazing to watch his deftness with a plank of wood on the end of a long pole, a VERY long pole, smoothing out any gaps or ripples.
The last pour included creating the differently leveled shower basin.
That skill, that handiwork resulted in this:
I told Steve it looked like an ice rink after the Zamboni had done it's work! So awesome to see this...will be even more fun to walk on it, hang out on it. It's supposed to rain beginning this weekend for several days so we hope to pour the patios on Wednesday of next week.
Feel super fortunate to have these guys on the team:

Love this. Another set of boxes checked. So fun to visit the blog, and follow along. Hope to be able to visit soon.
