She's Ready to Receive

Getting to the slab pour, like the entire project, is not a straightforward path.   Inspections happen at every step, multiple of them actually.   This week had a curveball in that the inspector took issue with the setup of the plumbing and remediation had to be done.  It involved removing/moving rock that had been put in to form the base for the slab.  It had to do with the pipes touching the rock in a way that was unacceptable to the inspector - and yes, they have that power.   So the team had to dig out the rock under all the pipes and lay down fabric and sand.  It was quite a scene!

 

And here's the final product, which passed inspection.

Having gotten over that hurdle, the crew continued on to fill the patios just the same way they'd filled the pad area to prep for the final pours.

 The final prep on the slab involved a waterproof membrane...screamin' yellow!

Rock too, and then it was rebar time!

SO...we will be pouring the slab on Tuesday, pending passing inspection on Monday but folks are pretty confident.  Then, the patios will be poured on Thursday.
