Fast Forward!

The wildfire was snuffed by mid-day Monday, but the evacuation orders and power were still obstacles to overcome to be able to get back to work on the house.  Fortunately, everything lifted by Wednesday and the crew was back at it in earnest!

The electrician completed his interior tasks, hooking up the cooktop and and the under the sink connections.  The only remaining tasks on that front are to complete the required EV charger, which necessitated putting a post in the ground, and the electric hookup for the hot tub which despite it just plugging into the wall, code requires a post with a disconnect panel...of course!  The posts are in, the final connections will happen in the coming days.

The earthwork continues...it seems it will never end!  Preparing the perimeter for pavers to go in, creating the steps out of the bedroom and bath.

The A/C Splits' compressor was at last installed too!

Amidst all that, the cabinet maker came and put the fronts and handles on the cabinets...they're DONE!

There is literally no work left to do in the house except the last coat of paint which begins on Monday!  I moved in some of the bigger pieces I have so as not to mess up the paint job bringing in awkward and bulky things.  Everything else is out of my place and in the garages below my unit.  I will shampoo the carpet in the bedroom tomorrow, someone comes to do a final clean on Monday and the rest can migrate after the painting is done.

There are several inspections that need to happen before we get final.  Fire inspection, Title 24 and CalGreen (environmental and energy regulations and requirements) are next and then final..should be all clear the first week of July but....I chuckle at my adherence to any kind of schedule!
