Cool Clear Construction

We had a sunny day today, and evidently there's no rain in the forecast for at least the next 10 days.

Today's work started with installing the sub-fascia.  Here's a reminder of where we left off yesterday:



The sub-fascia attaches to the trusses at their tips, one per panel width.  Here's what that looked like:




Once that was set, the next task was getting the hip trusses installed...they're like little sisters to the main trusses, and attach to them for additional support.  See if you can pick them out in the pics...here's what it ended up looking like with the sub-fascia and hip trusses installed.


The last step of that infrastructure was putting the collar on the center column to secure it all, partly a seismic retrofit.  You can see the white band in the pic.

Here's where things ended up today, they're prepped for putting plywood on the roof starting Monday.  I had some fun snapping pics with the sun shining through casting shadow of the roof infrastructure in some groovy ways.
