Fortune smiled upon us again....

Well, we did it.  It was a nail biter of a week, not gonna lie, but in the end, everything ended where we needed it to.

The plywood on the roof was completed, and here are some groovy images of all that:

The solar permit application was submitted by end of day on Tuesday.  We called for an inspection which happened on Thursday and by 2p Thursday afternoon we had passed inspection and the roofer was putting waterproofing on the roof!  The work concluded this morning...here's what she looks like all buttoned up for the impending rains. PHEW!

Metal roofing was to have been installed next week but we havea lot of steady rain forecasted so the when of that remains a bit in flux.  The patio covering roof extensions need to get on the roof and that can't happen till the rain subsides as well..so again nature is a bit in control but at least we have a water tight structure!!!

Now interior work can proceed which, after all the structural elements are installed - there's a bunch of hardware to secure this thing to the foundation - metal strapping, hold downs, etc - look closely at the metal strips running down the 2x6 boards at the end of the panels, that's about 50 nails (maybe more!) to secure each one and the metal brackets at the bottom are the hold down hardware that also get secured, along with the strapping at the top - they'll be able to move on to framing interior walls.

As usual there are emerging developments that need solutioning...the team has been stellar in problem solving and ensuring the work arounds don't compromise anything engineering would take issue with.  

I've been finalizing materials sourcing, getting doors lined up and my flooring I had chosen sold out so I'm on the trail for another and so on...it's ALWAYS something!

So grateful for where this ended up - nothing about it was guaranteed and this team really worked together to make it work -continued abundant gratitude on my part.
