One quick trip to the County Permit offices when I returned from DC with the exemption form in hand and the sprinkler requirement was vanquished! The close-in inspection happened on Tuesday of this week and we passed so we are clear for interior work to proceed apace!
Here's what the interior looked like in preparation for the inspection - all the equipment has been moved out (well almost all) and you can really get a sense of space, anew.
This morning, the insulation team showed up. They laid plastic down on the entire place and covered any exposed windows. They sprayed isoprene into the trusses in the ceiling - code requires they're covered at least 6 inches down from the roof. Check it out!
When I checked in this afternoon, the guy in the paint suit was spraying a fire retardant paint onto the insulation, covering the entire surface, again. The paint is kept active by stirring it up and feeding the pump.
A second team showed up so it let them complete ALL of the insulation in one day - they did the batt insulation in the walls as well:
The front door frame, and a temporary door, arrive on Monday as does the sheetrock for the interior! Drywall install starts next week and will be about a week to complete, inclusive of taping, mud and cat scratch finish.
We assembled a go forward schedule today - knowing full well timing can be mythical - but at this juncture, things are a lot more reliable. Here's the hoped for sequence of events:
March 18 & 25 week - Drywall install, front door install and final trim on exterior
April 1 week -Finish patios, Paint prime and one cover coat throughout
April 8 and 15 week - build box beams and light troughs and install
April 22 week - Flooring, potentially bathroom tiling
May 1 week - cabinet install, final plumbing, elec and mini-split installs,
May 6 week - countertops install, sinks, insinkerator, under counter water chiller, appliances in
And none of this speaks to the septic system that needs to be installed and the carport and solar that have to be completed before the County will sign off on the building permit...always more to deal with!!!!
It's a good thing.
